The Artist

I started taking watercolour lessons back in 2013 under the guidance of renowned Melbourne Impressionistic artist Greg Allen, a member of the prestigious 'Twenty Melbourne Painters Society.

Impressionism was a style of painting that I instantly connected to:  The illusion of form and space, suggestions of shape and mood, and the all-important focus on light, and which direction it was coming from.

Over the years I accumulated quite a large portfolio of landscapes, seascapes, animals, birds, portraits, and other interesting subjects, and I loved every minute of it!

It was a great honour  in 2020 to be commissioned by the Order Of Australia to create a painting featuring their signature wattle motif.  I am proud to say the OOA are still using my design for the silk scarf they give to new recipients every year.

After a hiatus of several years, I was seriously questioned my skill or talent as an artist, when suddenly in June 2023 a renewed inspiration sprang forth, and I painted 100 new pieces in just 12 months!

The style of these new paintings was unlike anything I'd done before or even SEEN anywhere else

The paintings were bright, strangely abstract, used a mixture of techniques, subjects and ideas.

So it was an exciting experience
…. Inspiration pouring out of my arm and ideas for paintings springing into my mind!

To my surprise people really loved these new paintings, which really encouraged me to continue and expand my thinking about the possibilities.

Friends and family kept insisting I take it to the next level and make them available as canvasses and poster prints.

It made sense
to start applying the art to various every day, sought-after products and make them available for people who were looking for fresh, unique designs.

So, I hope YOU enjoy the paintings and the designs as much as I LOVE creating them. "
